Sarasota Film Festival Opening Night

For all the years I lived in Sarasota I never attended a Sarasota Film Festival event. It's only ironic that I now live an hour away and have tickets to four of the festival's hottest events. Tonight was the kick off event with showing of the movie The Messenger directed by Oren Moverman and starring Woody Harrelson, Ben Foster and Samantha Morton.

It was an excellent movie but I'm still mulling how I feel about it. It's not the typical Hollywood feel-good movie, it pushes comfort boundaries. I'll write a more formal article/post later in the week because it's 2 a.m. and time for bed!

Enjoy a few shots from the red carpet tonight over on Flickr. And yes, I did get within spitting distance of Mr. Woody Harrelson and yes, he does look that beautiful in person as on the big screen.

G'night.
