What I Did to Stimulate the Economy Today: March 6, 2009

Listening to the 6 o'clock news this evening I heard some nonsense criticism about corporations who accepted bailout money and using car services vs. taxis to get around New York City. Criticism had something to do with taxis being cheaper.

Where do the critics think the money's going when it's paid to the car services? Don't the owners of the car service companies have families to support, too? And don't the drivers? My Grandma Huber's father was a driver for a wealthy Buffalo businessman during the Great Depression and she admitted they survived better than most because the businessman was employed which kept his staff employed.

At least these corporations are spending money and getting it back into the economy to keep it flowing. I'm thinking whatever these corporations spend their bailout money on is going to be criticized.

This is what I did to stimulate the economy today:
  • Trip to the Vending Machine (Snicker's fix)
  • Car Wash
  • McDonald's Shamrock Shake (childhood memories!)
  • Paid my Cable/Internet Bill
And how did you carry out your patriotic duty today?
