Worden Farm: Week 10, 2009 Farm Share: Veggies Fit for Yoda

Last week's farm share from Worden Farm in Punta Gorda, Fla., had the usual veggie suspects and oranges, but there was also this beautiful head of romanesco. I'm never heard of it and am amazed at how symmetrical each floret is on the vegetable which is in the Brassica (cauliflower) family.

I'm not sure why, but romanesco kind of reminds me of Yoda from Star Wars.

I've never seen or heard of that vegetable before. How do you cook it and how does it taste?

I roasted it with other veggies and sampled it raw. Had a light cauliflower taste. It can be steamed or boiled, too.
