Over the weekend I blogged a bit about the Continental Flight #3407 crash in Clarence Center, N.Y., just outside Buffalo. And over the weekend, different support groups emerged on Facebook and throughout the Net for the Clarence Center community and the flight victims.
Something I'm asking you to pay attention to and take action is the ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition petition and request a new house for the widow and daughter of Douglas Wielinskis, the victim who was killed when the plane crashed into the family's house the evening of February 12, 2009. I cannot imagine the grief the Wielinskis are experiencing and my heart goes out to them, that's why I'm blogging about this Extreme Makeover petition.
Nothing will bring back Mr. Wielinski but some ABC Extreme Makeover magic and love will help Karen and Jill Wielinski move forward with their lives. I've seen message board discussions questioning whether they'll receive an insurance/lawsuit settlement to cover their losses and I've wondered whether they would want to stay in the same Clarence Center neighborhood. And, can a house be rebuilt on the crash site? Detail, details. I always get bogged down with the details.
