When Liz was in town last week, we had time to taste a few Punta Gorda restaurants. One was Peace River Seafood (which I've blogged about before) and the other was The Perfect Caper. Can I say, "yum!"
I loved the subdued, yet lively atmosphere. Not sure if it's like this every night but the night we visited, there was music and packed with people but nothing overbearing. There was definitely a good vibe going on. Everything from cocktails to appetizers to the entree (plus the lovely bread) was fantastic.
And, Chef Jeanie Roland was a semi-finalist for a James Beard Foundation Award in the Best Chef in the South category. This is the foodie's equivalent of the Academy Awards. Who would have thought such culinary talent was here in Punta Gorda? Wish more people would visit so I can discover other treasures waiting to be discovered.
